How Do Committees Work?

In Ganesh Utsav celebrations 2025, the work is divided into different committees so that everything runs smoothly

1. Core / Executive Committee

  • Oversees the entire event.

  • Makes final decisions on budget, schedule, and coordination between other committees.

2. Finance & Contribution Committee

  • Collects donations or chanda.

  • Maintains accounts and expense records.

  • Issues receipts and invoices.

3. Pandal / Decoration Committee

  • Designs and decorates the mandap/pandal.

  • Arranges lighting, flowers, stage, and backdrops.

4. Idol Procurement & Installation Committee

  • Selects and purchases the Ganesh idol.

  • Manages transport and installation in the pandal.

5. Puja & Rituals Committee

  • Arranges priests (pujaris) and necessary puja materials.

  • Plans the schedule for daily aartis, special rituals, and visarjan.

6. Cultural Programs Committee

  • Organizes music, dance, plays, competitions, and other entertainment.

  • Prepares the stage program schedule.

7. Food & Prasadam Committee

  • Arranges prasadam (like ladoos) daily.

  • Manages any community meals (annadanam).

8. Publicity & Broadcasting Committee

  • Designs and distributes invitations, posters, and banners.

  • Handles announcements / Broadcasts on social media or local media.

9. Transport & Logistics Committee

  • Arranges vehicles for material transport and idol visarjan.

  • Handles shifting of stage items, sound equipment, etc.

10. Environment & Cleanliness Committee

  • Maintains cleanliness in and around the pandal.

  • Ensures eco-friendly visarjan and waste disposal.

11. Security & Crowd Management Committee

  • Ensures safety of visitors.

  • Coordinates with police or volunteers for crowd control.

12. Health & Emergency Committee

  • Keeps first-aid ready.

  • Arranges doctors or medical help in case of emergencies.
